On May 30, 2012, Aung San Suu Kyi visited Maha Chai, an area about 20 miles south of Bangkok that has a large population of Burmese Migrant Workers, approximately 200,000. Crowds of Burmese, some gripping "We want to go home", "We want to free from working as a slave" posters, greeted the democracy leader. "Don't feel down, or weak. History is always changing," "I don't want to give a promise easily. But, Today, I will make you one promise: I will try my best for you all" Daw Aung San Suu Kyi told the Crowds in Mahachai, Thailand. This is her first remarkable oversea trip in 24 years. Thousands of Myanmar Migrant Workers overwhelmingly welcomed Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
